Arto’s Gravis Shoe Tour
Gravis will once again be on the road, this time promoting Arto Saari’s newest shoe release, the Arto and Arto Lx. The Gravis skateboarding team including Arto Saari, Dylan Rieder, Jake Johnson, Sam Winter, and Steve Forstner will be jet setting from city to city for your very own nostalgic enjoyment. So come hang out with some of the world’s best professional skaters at a shop near you to score some free product and autographs.
Dominik Dietrich hails from le olde world of Austria, and is very well known in Europe but recently he has been gaining mad respect worldwide for his well rounded skills on a skateboard. This man has got the complete package; sick style, gnar spirit, tech shit and has a unique approach to any and all skate spots you throw at him. When Dominik isnt trying to dodge the Austrian army draft he is out getting fresh clips and landing bangers left and right. Just check his footage from an Austrian skate video titled "FRAMED".....
This past weekend Arto Saari and the rest of the Gravis skate team went on a little drive stopping at skate shops all over southern california to promote the launch of Arto's newest shoe, the ARTO LX. Using the high tech communication service of Twitter.com we set out "tweeting" our where abouts and which shops we were hitting up next. At each stop we surprised the shop employees and customers alike with our star studded entourage of Dylan Rieder, Sammy Winter, Steve Forstner and of course Arto Saari. The shop kids were tripping out when they watched Arto and the boys walk in through those doors, and start handing out his newest shoe for free like it was candy. Well it wasnt candy but it sure was sweet to see the look on the kiddies' faces as they met the Gravis team and got autographs and fresh kicks. So after a weekend full of twits and tweeds we are now getting ready to hit the road again...this time across the U.S. of A. so be sure to follow the Gravis Footwear Twitter page to find out where you can score some new Arto shoes... again...until then...ummm, you get the idea.
Steve Forstner is currently spending his days and nights in the city of Berlin, where he has been getting into more than his fare share of mischief and mayhem. Living like a true jipo means you must always push the boundaries of your mind, body and soul....while at the same time tripping the rest of the general public out. Steve has been spending some of those cold German nights hitting the streets to do just that, and with absolute pinnacle results, here are some sneak peak photos into whats soon to come from a gypsy in Berlin.....
It's Halloween time again and this year Analog and Gravis are presenting the 'Don't Fear the Reaper' Halloween Jam at Waterloo Skate Park in Sydney on Friday 30th October kicking off at 5.30pm - don't forget to come in your best Halloween Costume!
One of the newest installments to the Gravis skate team, Sammy Winter, shows us here just why he is part of the family. You will be seeing much more great things from this lad in future days to come.
Javier Mendizabal took top honors at this years European Vans Downtown Showdown in Italy, which was held at the Lingotto building with the famous Fiat racing test track as the back drop. Javier was ripping as he took the wins for both best pro of the event and he also won the Heroin obstacle as well earning him a total of 7500 euros, not bad for a days worth of skateboarding. Also teammate Sammy Winter was there killing it and helped the Cliche team get 2nd place for best team earning the team 10000 euros to be split up. Congrats to Javier again for displaying some great skating and taking the cake.
another stop for the Analog/Gravis Skatepark Daze brought us to the famous Burton store of in Los Angeles. On top of the roof parking lot we had the bbq fired up and the kegs were flowing sweet sweet nectar, but most importantly there was some proper skateboarding going down on the alien workshop ramp, plus a grueling, impressive game of s.k.a.t.e. which had the winner walk away with a bunch of gear and some alien workshop decks and wheels. The product toss was nothing short of mayhem as Analog and Gravis gear flung through the air, which almost led to a little scrap between kids over a skate deck, but they peacefully resolved the matter. Good sport lads. There was over 200 people in attendance which ment the food and booze were a big hit. Plus there was some sick skaters to watch for entertainment such as mini killer Lee Loughridge who was doing massive front blunts all over the ramp. But also props to all the skaters who came, you guys were throwing down some serious shit!! Big thanks to the boys over at the Alien workshop store like Josh and Sam, as well as everyone from the Burton side of things for coming out and making it a great time and keeping things classy over in L.A...and biggest thanks to all the people who joined in the fun and we hope to see you at our last two stops of the summer!! September 4th @ Santa Ana centennial skatepark and September 11th @ San Clemente skatepark..BE THERE!!!
There was a photo contest held in amsterdam last week and we sent ove none other than Dylan Rieder and Jake Johnson to take the cake, and well, they did just that.... with the help of photographer Jonathon Mehring..WINNING PHOTO BELOW...
